Garvey's Last Soldier is a gripping thriller and love story. Set in South London in 1997/99 this astonishing and moving novel centres around the mysterious Lady Theodora who lives with her tormented and cruel grand-daughter. Lady Theodora practices an ancient religion (Ausarian), and is in possession of the secrets surrounding the mysterious deaths of three young black boys. George, an aspiring journalist, who was once in care in Lady Theodora's children's home, has come to investigate these murders. He is about to expose LadyTheodora, who he believes is the real killer, when he comes under the magical spell of a love he cannot fight against. George is also told his destiny is to become a 'soldier' and is instructed to bring justice (maat) on the real perpetrators of the brutal killings, a secret society known as The Circle of the Sebau.
